Customer returns for a gun after a delay 12/2021

PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS. DOUBLE CHECK SERIAL #s –  ASK QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY IF SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT

IMPORTANT –  INBOUND CONSIGNMENT RETURN MAY NEED TO BE SELECTED, IF A CONSIGNMENT RETURN IS REASON FOR DELAY

1. Process 4473

-ASK QUESTIONS PLEASE DON’T ASSUME.  IS THIS A CONSIGNMENT? IS THE BRADY DATE VALID?  IS THIS THE RIGHT PERSON?  IS THIS THE RIGHT FIREARM?

– Get LTC and Drivers License to get last name and confirm 4473 info
– Confirm serial number ON THE GUN is, serial number on 4473
– Go to Axis Data Center and navigate to Firearms > 4473 > Process Customer 4473, you may need to check “Show past 4473s”
– Select customer’s 4473 and click on “Update Status” pencil
– Select “Check Status” to check on the status, proceed with a manual finding only with manager approval
– Select “Submit”

– Then select customer’s 4473 and click on “Recertification” pencil
– Have the customer re-sign the 4473 Hit “Submit” Button

– Go to Axis Data Center and navigate to Firearms > 4473 > Process Customer 4473, you may need to check “Show past 4473s”
– Select 4473 to process by clicking on the green arrow
– Review customer info (ONLY IF NECESSARY – update AXIS record)
– Review form 4473 and continue
– Mark Dealer denied if form is incorrect, print out denied forms, write reason on top and give them to management.  Otherwise Continue.
– Continue through 4473 process answering questions and fill-in info as necessary, until you get to NICS screen.
– Confirm the accuracy of the NICS Screen and Continue

YOU MUST SAVE AND CLOSE IF YOU DO NOT GET A PROCEED

– Continue through 4473 process answering questions and fill-in info as necessary, eSign form
– Hit “I agree” button

– That opens Update Disposition

– Select Appropriate NICS Status

– Select “none” in create transaction type if it is the correct thing to do
IF YOU SEE OTHER OPTIONS ASK QUESTIONS, IT MIGHT BE A CONSIGNMENT RETURN!

– Select “submit” button

2. Process MIRCs (NO MIRCS FOR CONSIGNMENT RETURN)

3. Release Layaway (NO RELEASE NECESSARY FOR CONSIGNMENT RETURN)

– Go to the register software
– Select customer
– Click on “Current Tab”
– Select the Layaway (by clicking on it once) and add hit the “make payment’ button
– Enter $0.01 and hit the “OK” button

– IMPORTANT – Hit “Transfer” Button

– IF NECESSARY Add other items for purchase (holster, cleaning kit, ammo, memberships etc)

– Finalize transaction and payment.  Finalizing the layaway transaction, sells the gun, selling a gun disposes a gun.
